This August, Oslo Runway will spotlight the brightest Norwegian design talents. Set to showcase 34 brands as part of its official schedule, here Vogue Scandinavia rounds up everything you need to know about the program
Oslo Runway is back, and this year's lineup is packed with both established and up-and-coming talent. The annual event — set to take place in Oslo, Norway, between August 26 and 31 — will host 34 Norwegian brands and designers as they showcase their collections through runway shows, presentations, performances, and curated exhibitions.
The fashion affair will open with a presentation of NEXT brands Tarinii and Murlong Cres, who represent the future of Norwegian fashion. Fresh on the Oslo Runway scene after its founding in 2023, 1313 Selah will show its collection at the Munch Museum while Fredrik Tjærandse, is headed to Collective Oslo Tech Factory with his captivating latex pieces. And if you can't get enough Norwegian design, a visit to the official pop-up store with Steen & Strøm is a must, where a selection of brands will be available to shop.
Not only is Oslo Runway centred on highlighting local talent, but it also has an eye towards sustainability. In 2021, Oslo Runway introduced the CPHFW Sustainability Requirements framework alongside Norwegian Fashion Hub to motivate Norway's design industry to move forward with better sustainability practices. Today, those requirements are fully implemented, and all participating brands have fulfilled the actionable points in order to participate.
