The Danish creative has collaborated with the children’s clothing brand on a capsule collection, with all proceeds benefiting Børnecancerfonden, the Danish Childhood Cancer Foundation

Danish powerhouse and former Vogue Scandinavia cover star Pernille Teisbaek has a wealth of cherished collaborations under her belt, but her latest endeavour, particularly as a mother of four young children, is focused on a cause close to her heart. Partnering with Danish childrens brand Wheat, Teisbaek has designed a capsule collection, with all proceeds going directly to Børnecancerfonden, the Danish Childhood Cancer Foundation, where she also serves as an ambassador.

“If I can help make a difference for children affected by this relentless disease, I am very grateful. I lost my father to cancer when I was seven, and I don’t wish for any family to go through the same,” Teisbaek says. “I believe it’s particularly important to focus on cancer research, as it’s the greatest hope we can offer those affected by the illness.”

The limited edition capsule, crafted from organic and GOTS-certified fabrics, features a range of cosy, unisex pieces, including T-shirts, sweaters, pyjamas, and beanies with a slightly oversized fit. “Comfort is key. Kids need to be able to move, play, and have fun,” Teisbaek says. “Hoodies and sweatpants are favourites among kids and easy to put on as well. Denim is durable and goes for so many occasions. I think it’s important that clothes can be passed on, which is why the collection consists of unisex styles and timeless classics.”

Emblazoned on the clothing is the phrase ‘I will do big things’, which, for Teisbaek, embodies hope in the face of illness. Also adorning the pieces is a smiley face, a symbol with special personal meaning for the creative. “Before my father passed away, he gave me a ring with a smiley on it. The smiley is now part of the inspiration behind the design as a small – but for me, very important – detail,” Teisbaek shares.

For the Danish Childhood Cancer Foundation, a small private foundation with limited resources, collaborating with Teisbaek and Wheat is invaluable. “This collection will not only help raise necessary funds but also support the understanding of our cause,” says Marianne Benzon Nielsen, CEO of the organisation. “Our goal is that no children should die from cancer, and everyone should survive to a life without late effects.”
