The Swedish royal donned a festive tartan look that is now firmly at the top of our wish list
Princess Madeleine of Sweden delivered a masterclass on festive royal style when she stepped out in a mid-length tiered plaid skirt this week.
Princess Madeleine, 39, currently resides in the United States with her husband Chris O'Neill, and their three children, Princess Leonore, seven, Prince Nicolas, six, and three-year-old Princess Adrienne. The family made their return to Sweden to receive this year's Christmas trees at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Their last trip to Sweden saw the family atttend Prince Julian's christening in August, who is the youngest son of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia.
The youngest child of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia opted for the vintage-inspired brand Love Shack Fancy, which she paired with a simple black turtle neck and black leather boots by Christian Louboutin. This was finished with classic make-up and an elegant glossy blow dry. For jewellery the Swedish royal wore a Cartier Love bracelet.
O'Neill wore a grey suit while their children were equally festive in their apparel, donning emerald green velvet pinafore dresses adorned with bows from UK based children's brand Trotters. The white knits and matching white tights as well as black boots, made for the perfect nod to the season.
The family posed for a series of photos at the palace as they accepted the Christmas trees, alongside the staff of the royal palace wearing festive waistcoats.
