For the 19th edition of the Reykjavik Film Festival, Guests of Honour were hosted for an intimate dinner that brought together Nordic heavyweight stars and rising Icelandic talent
With its panoramic, seventh-floor view of Iceland’s mountains and oceans, The Roof of Reykjavik’s EDITION welcomed Nordic industry heavyweights as guests of honour of this year's Reykjavik Film Festival. In a serene and stylish setting, softly illuminated by candlelight, the high-profile attendees gathered for an intimate soirée to toast the festival’s upcoming events.
Amongst the esteemed guests of the exclusive dinner was Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund, known for his iconic music videos for Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Beyoncé. By Åkerlund's side was his son, fashion stylist Love Åkerlund, who mingled with Greek filmmaker Athina Tsangari, and shared lively conversations with Frédéric Boyer, artistic director of Tribeca Film Festival.
Local Icelandic visionaries were also in attendance. Director Baltasr Kormákur, renowned for Everest, and actor Ingvar E. Sigurðsson, known for his work in Jar City, brought a familiar warmth to the occasion. The blend of international and local creatives was highlighted further with the presence of rising Icelandic talents such as filmmaker Rúnar Rúnarsson, and author Auður Ava Óladsdóttir.
