Silky smooth skin became the focal point yet again at Copenhagen Fashion Week, as the Charlotte Tilbury team transformed models into a modern-day Mona Lisa for Rotate's party-ready runway

Wrapping up the autumn/winter '25 season, the grand finale of Rotate's (always) anticipated show marks the starting shot for a flurry of trend reports. As for what made our list of must-know makeup trends? Silken skin. Sandwiching Copenhagen Fashion Week with velvety finishes, the makeup artists at both OpéraSport and Rotate steered clear of glass skin in lieu of luminous powder.

Partnering for a second season, Charlotte Tilbury's Pro Artistry team, led by Sofia Tilbury, the brand's global artistry director, was responsible for Rotate's satin skin – a look that Tilbury herself is renowned for perfecting. "It’s an honour to once again be partnering closely with Jeanette and Thora to help bring their creative vision to life," says Sofia. "For the makeup look, I wanted to depict the glamour and elegance of this season’s Rotate woman, who instantly captures everyone’s attention when she walks into the room."

The collection drew inspiration from 1990s supermodel references, featuring chocolate browns and luxe faux fur textures. To complement the designs, the Charlotte Tilbury team created a "pretty, pared-back look," according to Sofia, focusing on fresh, barely-there skin. Achieving the lit-from-within effect required ample skin preparation, with the team reaching for cult classics like the Magic Water Cream and Magic Hydrator Mists to boost moisture levels. "We used complexion products sparingly," added Sofia, noting that the Hollywood Flawless Filter was a key product to blur and smooth for that soft-focus, lit-from-within skin.

Brows were lightly groomed for a feathered finish and the eyes were framed by little-to-no mascara, with the Tilbury team instead opting for a subtle wash of taupe on the eyelids. Finally, to give the look of just-bitten lips, the Hollywood Beauty Icon Lipsticks were used in a blotting fashion to enhance the natural lip colour and add a hint of rosiness. The final touch to this masterpiece? A layer of the Magic Lip Oil Crystal Elixir.
