For pre-spring 2022, Samsøe Samsøe have designed a wardrobe for brighter days

Just like all of us, the team at Samsøe Samsøe have itchy feet. Longing for escapism and travel, for pre-spring 2022 the label has created a collection that wants to see the world.
Aptly titled ‘Reflection’, this range is for the woman who wants to go places. Power suits contrast party must-haves complete with sharp shoulders and sequins. Updated lacing, leather dresses, ribbed knits and bold stripes also take centre stage. Movement is encouraged in relaxed and slouchy silhouettes. Travel isn’t just viewed in place but also time. Earthy tones set against a palette of electric blues, rustic reds and washed out yellow nod to the 1970s and 1980s. While hints of the 1990s can be spotted in the classic blue washed denim. Despite taking inspiration from these eccentric decades, the pieces aren’t made to look back, instead they are designed with vibrant new beginnings in mind. Reflect and reinvigorate.
“This has really been the time to reflect, I feel,” says Samsøe Samsøe intermediate head of design Gitte Wetter. “Wanting and hoping for brighter days ahead by dressing up and feeling a little more dangerous and gorgeous, is exactly what we need now.”
With change truly at foot, the collection also marks a milestone in the brand’s responsible journey. For the pre-spring 2021 collection, Samsøe Samsøe has 73.8 per cent more responsibly sourced and produced garments. This is one step closer to the label's goal of being 100 per cent more sustainable by 2024.
