From Bryanboy's barely-there beach attire to Nina Sandbech's dazzling mermaid dress, here's what our favourite local tastemakers donned during the holidays
With the holiday season comes many celebrations, providing the perfect opportunity to rummage through our wardrobes for our finest attires. And the Nordic style mavens certainly got the memo this year, ushering in Christmas and the New Year in a bevvy of scene-stealing looks. Whether sparkly evening dresses or sub-zero-suitable ensembles, the Scandi style set (once again) did not disappoint with their festive get-ups. Below, browse through their most fashion-forward moments during the holidays:
Elsa Hosk
True to her minimalist, ultra-elegant style, Swedish supermodel Elsa Hosk rang in the New Year in a sleek, all-black outfit comprising an off-the-shoulder long-sleeve top and a slinky maxi skirt. She finished the look with chunky gold jewellery and a pair of tortoise sunnies – we’ll definitely be replicating her polished ensemble this year.
Matilda Djerf
Judging from her Instagram posts, it looks like Swedish It-girl and Vogue Scandinavia’s former digital cover star Matilda Djerf spent most of her holidays outside of the city, in the comfort and calm of the Swedish archipelago, where she originally hails from. Djerf blessed us with many stunning outfit photos over the holidays; however, we fell particularly in love with her dreamy look for Christmas. Donning a Mirror Palais cream white silk dress with puff sleeves, lace details, and a sweet bow that tied her hair, Djerf’s look was pure perfection.
Bryanboy
While those who spent the holidays in the Nordics enjoyed a winter wonderland of snow and crisp weather, Stockholm-based OG influencer Bryanboy escaped the freezing temperatures to the tropics of his home country, the Philippines. Naturally, his holiday celebrations involved multiple beachy luxury looks, including a navy swimsuit he wore with a pair of mirrored statement aviator sunnies for Christmas.
Nina Sandbech
Norwegian trendsetter and former Vogue Scandinavia cover star Nina Sandbech is known for pulling out all the stops for her outfits, whether it be fashion week, a gala or a celebration like New Year’s Eve. This year she continued the glitzy theme from last year, sporting a sparkly turquoise sequin dress paired with a fur coat, a shimmery Zarqua purse and By Annabel heels. Sandbech completed the glamourus winter look with a headpiece by Jennifer Behr dripping with crystals.
Pernille Teisbaek
Danish entrepreneur and fashion icon Pernille Teisbaek celebrated the holidays with her family of six, with this year marking the first Christmas for her youngest daughter, Bella Rose. While Teisbaek herself donned a black sequin dress layered with a white T-shirt, the most adorable moment came by way of her kids, who were all dressed in matching forest green checkered tops.
Darja Barannik
“Reflecting on a year filled with growth, lessons learned, and so many incredible business opportunities,” writes Norwegian influencer Darja Barannik on Instagram. She welcomed the new year in Oslo, her hometown, clad in a black elegant dress with cut-out details. Barannik completed the look with sparkly tights, crystal-embellished Loewe pumps and a black Louis Vuitton Twist bag.

Emili Sindlev
As one would expect, glittery frocks reigned supreme for this year’s NYE festivities. Danish content creator and bonafide style aficionado Emili Sindlev doubled up the trends, tapping a sparkly naked dress for New Years Eve hers with the naked dress trend. We’re taking notes of Sindlev's look for this year’s gatherings, and are already googling to find our very own figure-hugging, sparkly fishnet number.
Janka Polliani
Norwegian It-girl Janka Polliani spent her holidays surrounded by mountains in Golsfjellet. It can be tricky to remain stylish when the temperatures hit below zero; however, Polliani has mastered it to a tee. Serving true cold-weather style inspiration, she donned a bubblegum pink puffer jacket, black trousers and Moon Boots. Polliani finished her cosy look with a big, fluffy white aviator hat, ideal for icy Scandinavian winters.
Sara Flaaen Licius
Norwegian model Sara Flaaen Licius enjoyed her holidays in Åsa, Norway. Continuing with her seeming tradition of wearing stunning dresses for Christmas, this year, she wore a champagne-coloured minidress with crystal details and matching sparkly heels.
Marianne Theodorsen
“It’s been a blessed and quiet Christmas with the ones that matter the most,” reads Marianne Theodorsen’s Instagram post. The Oslo-based content creator spent Christmas with her family, uploading a charming picture of all four dressed in festive attire. Theodorsen, who’s known for her colour-bursting, eye-catching get-ups and an enviable bag collection, opted for a thrifted pearl and colourful stone embellished jacket paired with a sequin plaid skirt.
Omar Rudberg
Swedish actor and certified heartthrob Omar Rudberg saw in the new year in the most dapper attire, causing many Young Royals fans and beyond to go crazy in his comment section. Sporting a sharp, tailored suit, Rudberg, who spent his New Year’s Eve in Marbella, showed how a simple, well-crafted suit can go a long way.
Jeanette Madsen
This Christmas, Jeanette Madsen, co-founder of beloved Danish fashion brand Rotate Birger Christensen, leaned into the mega-popular red tights trend, donning a chic, black draped mini dress with a knot detail with a pair of scarlet red stockings and matching heels. “Wearing Christmas last night,” she wrote in her post.
Hanna Marzoui Widlun
Swedish stylist Hanna Marzoui Widlun wore a classic holiday season colour for this year’s NYE festivities, wearing a curve-clinging, cherry red sarong maxi dress from Helsa Studio. While the gown is undoubtedly a statement piece on its own, Marzoui Widlun paired it with large, chunky silver earrings from Louis Abel, adding that finishing touch to her look.
