From month to month, Stockholm-based Verona Farrell of Secondhandhuns scours and snapshots the best style throughout our region's streets (and hottest parties) for Vogue Scandinavia – sharing her musings along the way. This time round, she lensed what show-goers at Paris Fashion Week were donning for some of the Scandi shows on the roster
This season, Scandinavian brands Ganni, Acne Studios and Cecilie Bahnsen made a big impact on the Paris Fashion Week schedule. The question I always want to know... what was everyone wearing?
Cecilie Bahnsen
Copenhagener Cecilie Bahnsen always puts the fun in functionality. Classically pretty from a distance, up close I realised it’s an entirely bike-able collection. Her signature romantic bubbling silhouettes were contrasted with high socks and sneakers and a repeated collaboration with North Face took wearability one step further, giving technical gear for the girls a whole new meaning.
Backstage, racks were lined with the kind of clothes that you instinctively want to put on. Frilly, poofy skirt and half zip jumpers with delicate appliqués, the collection was a total sensory picnic. My take on Bahnsen’s collection; save on therapy and opt for an elevated tutu with some sneakers to connect with your inner child.

Ganni
While some of us Scandinavians mourn Ganni's departure from the Copenhagen Fashion Week schedule, their show in Paris was reassurance that there’s nothing to worry about: this brand is Scandi forever.
As the Ganni girl matures so does her wardrobe and on the runway maturity was exaggerated through vintage swimming bonnets, faux fur collars and memories of faded home furnishings (see lampshade-shaped skirt and hilarious little vintage sofa Bou bag). While things seemed more neutral than usual, upon closer inspection it was a mishmash of mismatched maximalism classic of Copenhagen and très Ganni.
The Ganni guests greeted us in buckled trench coats, XXL Hobo bags and all kinds of lace up ballerinas. Tights of every description were another feature, my own baby blue pair from sustainable Scandi brand Swedish Stockings. The memo on faded colour palettes however got lost in the mail to my Parisian flat so I kept things offensively... blue. Somewhere, Violet Beauregarde is taking notes.

Acne Studios
While less confident brands pedal out tired iterations of bygone collections, we can always rely on the most unapologetic brand from usually apologetic Sweden to always do its own thing.
This season, Acne Studios brought all the girlies to town. Doechii, arrived all smiles in custom, having already won Paris Fashion Week by this point. Show after show she looked like a different person, which by fashion week styling standards equates to a total success. Other stand-outs were pop-princess PinkPantheress looking cute as a button in tartan and the triple threat (model, stylist and editor) on everyone’s lips, Dara Allen, in super high waisted jeans and Bowlina bag. The guests looks seemed to work with a particular combo of bubbly silhouettes and an It bag – and if there’s one thing that Acne is doing well right now it’s an It bag.
P.S. If you missed the runway do yourself a favor and check out look 42. Scarf-jumpsuit-moment of your dreams.
