Séfr - AW25

By Clare McInerney

For autumn/winter '25, Gothenburg-based Séfr serves up a flamenco-inspired 'Gitanos' collection, made to be in motion

There’s always something musical and dynamic about Séfr’s collections – just look to the last autumn/winter range literally dubbed ‘Rhythm’. For the upcoming season, the beat plays on, but this time around, with a flamenco flair inspired by the Romani people of Spain and Argentina. “Being the birthplace of flamenco, we’ve tried to capture these elegant movements in our fabrics and silhouettes this season,” says Sinan Abi Morshed, Séfr’s Gothenburg-based co-founder and creative director of the autumn/winter '25 collection dubbed 'Gitanos'. “Sheer, fluid fabrics that drape beautifully, garments with exaggerated curved sleeves and trouser bottoms that reinforce these motions as well.”

To immediately illustrate his point, Abi Morshed points to the ‘Scarlet Skirt’ that opens the women’s look book: an indigo-dyed cotton fabric design in generous proportions, trimmed with colourful fringed cotton tassel-yarn to create sweeping movement with each step. Elsewhere, luxe woven pieces, like the ribbed melange ‘Mae’ sweater with fringed edges, tap into the nomadic, artisanal ‘Gitanos’ spirit.

It’s been one year since the brand formally stepped into the womenswear, in which time the brand has mastered a sense of fluidly across the categories. Here, the ‘borrowed from the boys’ mood remains in force with tactile shirting denim, jackets and shirts mirrored across the both look books. According to Séfr, the joy of flamenco is for everyone. ¡Ole!
