Skall Studio’s autumn/winter '25 collection is a love story. An endless love story, to be more specific. Not between people, but between Skall Studio founders Julie and Marie Skall and their craft. “This collection tells a tale of a deep and ongoing passion for the beauty of textiles and craftsmanship,” says Julie. Set against an unfinished industrial space – soaring ceilings, massive skylights, concrete walls and floors – we feel the full impact of the carefully considered textiles, the blink-and-you’ll-miss-them details and the collection’s gentle romance (remember – it’s a love story).

To tell this romantic epic, there’s an unapologetic femininity that runs through the collection. Lace trimmings and delicate embroidery, sweet ruffles and glass pearls, the latter of which are hand-sewn onto a standout frock fit for a party. “We are especially proud of this piece, which delves into the more festive looks we’ve been exploring over recent seasons,” says Marie. Even the tailoring has a feminine touch by way of nipped waists. Outwear is cut close to the body or belted to emphasise the form. This softness is counterbalanced with considered suiting, chunky knitwear layered over turtlenecks and a throw-on-and-go duffle coat (crafted from surplus materials, it’s a personal favourite of the designers). Also in the mix, floor-sweeping ruffled peasant dresses, fit for a romance on the prairie.

The collection is also a love letter to the women who wear Skall. The sort of woman who – like the sisters who founded the brand – value quality and timelessness over passing trends. Or, as Marie puts it, “strong, independent, creative, thoughtful and caring women”. “Women who are unafraid to be themselves and who value a wardrobe that allows space for their personality and freedom of expression,” she says. “In many ways, it is a tribute to all the women who have inspired us throughout our lives and careers – and continue to do so.”
