For spring/summer '25, Swedish brand Stand Studio offers understated investment pieces that can be worn year-round

Given that Stand Studio is most closely associated with decadent, fuzzy outerwear, warm weather collections can be a bit tricky. For spring/summer '25, designer Nellie Kamras has found a clever workaround by way of transitional pieces that – with a clever styling tweak here or there – can be worn year-round. “The base is always quality materials and textures – the texture story is always the foundation of everything we do,” says Kamras when I meet her for coffee at Stand's Stockholm HQ. “We managed to get a really light feeling in the collection but we also want to have pieces in the collection that are not only for summer, but can actually last year-round.”

Whilst the collection is still fashioned from materials that beg to be touched – buttery raw-edged leather and super soft suede – the pieces are almost impossibly light, the material itself razor-thin and hardly a lining in sight. Then there are the hemlines, which veer from super short to asymmetric, allowing soft leather frocks to catch the breeze.

Though the lookbook finds coordinated total looks, Kamras emphasises that these are the sort of forever pieces designed to mix and match. “It’s important to have a foundation of products that you feel like you want to invest in,” she says, noting the the mostly-neutral palette of the collection only adds to the longevity and versatility of the pieces. Take, for instance, the brown leather chore coat and matching trousers – Stand’s luxurious take on workwear. “It looks heavy, but it’s really light,” says Kamras, handing me the coat to test the weight myself. One can imagine it over a tank top or slip dress in the warmer months, or layered over a cozy sweater as temperatures drop. Elsewhere, a sharp-shouldered trench coat in soft grey offers a more ladylike topper to take you through the seasons.

The offering is perhaps a bit more understated than the Stand Studio of seasons past, but that’s precisely the point. “We’re heading in a more sophisticated direction,” says Kamras, noting that in the decade since she founded the brand, her customers have grown up. “And I think this is the right direction.”
