The Ukrainian brand's autumn/winter '25 collection evoked the textures and mood of a night walk along the beach, where feminine silhouettes and sustainable fabrics take centre stage
The fashion industry is a hectic field to work in, especially for designers. For Tetyana Chumak, founder and creative director of Ukrainian brand TG Botanical, the past year granted a moment away from the bustle, time for self-reflection and rejuvenation. It was during this period that she – while walking along the moon-bathed sandy stretches of Spain’s Costa Brava during her pregnancy – enchanted by the nocturnal ocean, discovered inspiration for her autumn/winter ‘25 collection.
“Drawing from my personal journey during pregnancy, the collection celebrates renewal, inner beauty, and the strength we find in nature,” Chumak explains, noting that with AW25, she set out to capture the enigma and allure of the night sea, translating her tranquil and spellbinding star-lit strolls into the garments.
Showcased via an intimate presentation at Design Museum Denmark, Chumak yearned to unveil the pieces “as art”, allowing attendees to experience the materials up close and marvel at the craftsmanship. As in previous TG Botanical collections, textures claim the focal point in the AW25 line-up, taking cues from the magnetic, ever-changing ocean.
Feminine, body-hugging frocks – ranging from mini to midi – are rendered in muted greens, their ruched and smocked surface reminiscent of seaweed drifting along the shore. Elsewhere, tactile curve-clinging dresses in subtle, earthy shades of browns, beiges and greys summon velvety sand beneath bare feet. This season, Chumak wanted to celebrate the female form, with second-skin, hourglass silhouettes drawing upon mermaids enveloping the body like water. Aligned with TG Botanical’s sustainability ethos, all garments have been crafted from deadstock materials or certified natural fabrics such as hemp, linen, and cotton while all dyes used are non-toxic and plant-based.
“We hope this collection inspires people to reconnect with their core values and embrace moments of reflection and serenity,” Chumak concludes. “It’s an invitation to pause and find beauty not just in fleeting escapes but also in everyday life.”
