Let's face it – few shoes have as much staying power in our seasonal wardrobe rotation as a pair of knee-high boots. Worn with flouncy shift dresses during summer, these absolute must-haves make just as much impact when styled for a colder climate – sported with woollen stockings and knitted sweaters come autumn.
Going beyond the sheer practicality of a pair of knee-high boots, the timeless staple also happens to be on trend for the season ahead (not that they ever went out of style). Spotted on most runways during the autumn/winter '23 season, the many variations proposed by our favourite designers were a feast for the fashion-savvy eye. Acne Studios went the moto route, while Blumarine sent both shearling-lined and sleeker styles down the catwalk. Celine – as always – and Chanel proposed the perfect black pair in high gloss leather and with an almost-walkable heel, while our homegrown brands Remain, Rotate, and Stine Goya all played around with textures and finishes – rendering the knee-high boot in a more playful manner.
It is pretty safe to say that if there's one investment to make for the coming season, make it a knee-high boot.
