Positioned in the heart of the Stockholm's inner-city fashion Mecca, Toteme's revamped flagship is far more than simply a store: it is an experience of serenity, art and tactility
It's been a busy year for Toteme: from holding its first-ever runway show during Paris Couture Week to celebrating 10 years with an intimate celebration attended by Prince Daniel of Sweden and a special Vogue Scandinavia feature. Now, adding even more excitement to the milestone year, the Swedish brand has swung open the doors to its reimagined Stockholm flagship.
Located on Biblioteksgatan in the heart of Stockholm, the store – designed with an inviting layout and homely warmth – is the new base for exploring the craftsmanship and heritage of the beloved fashion label.
In keeping with the brand's artful yet minimalist aesthetic, the ground floor interiors are animated through layers of texture. Smooth stone, marmorino-plastered walls and metal fixtures are juxtaposed by the jagged, crushed crystals in the lighting sculpture. Artwork by Anders Krisar, Carl Milles and Mikselr Jansson all serve to bring Toteme's Swedish heritage to the forefront of the shopping experience, whilst keeping with the streamlined, monochromatic design.
Upstairs tells a different story as the space transforms into a New York townhouse. Living room areas and walk-in wardrobes are laid out to emulate the warmth, welcoming, and intimacy of a home. The rails of Toteme's designs are surrounded with compositions by Andrée Putman and Eileen Gray, alongside coffee tables from Marc Newson, enhancing this feeling. No longer are you simply shopping in central Stockholm, instead you are embraced by comfort and tranquillity.
