Jonas Bohlin at Sturehof

At one of Stockholm’s most iconic restaurants, Sturehof, located in the heart of Stureplan, you’ll discover a treat for the eyes: a showroom, dubbed ‘Underbar’ ('Wonderful'), created by Swedish design greats Jonas Bohlin and Christine Ingridsdotter. Tucked away in the restaurant’s Nelly Sach’s Room on the first floor, the space features a host of textiles and furniture, including a limited-edition ‘Snäcka’ table lamp, the celebrated ‘Tivoli’ chair – reimagined with an exclusive upholstery from Sahco – and newly designed glass vases by Bohlin. While you’re there, make sure to treat your taste buds, too, at Sturehof’s brasserie offering delectable seafood and classic Swedish dishes.

Ellen Hedin at Riche Fenix

Riche’s edgier little sister, Riche Fenix, in Södermalm, is also partaking in the Stockholm Design Week fun. In the hip restaurant’s basement, designer and artist Ellen Hedin presents her visionary and quirky furniture crafted from repurposed materials and inspired by the creative’s cherished memories and daily life – both its beauty and, at times, its ugliness. If you visit the exhibition opening on the 5th of February (running until the 16th of March) between 4PM and 7PM, you’ll even have the chance to meet the artist herself.

Layered’s ‘Ten Years Unfolded’ exhibition

For a decade, Swedish company Layered has been bringing beautiful handmade rugs and furniture into homes across the Nordics and beyond. Now, the brand’s Ten Years Unfolded exhibition, held digitally and at its showroom in Östermalm, explores the rich journey from inception to today. Step into the mirrored box, where a boundless illusion of a geometric pattern-adorned rug unfolds – its design influenced by an archival rug from 2015, now reimagined for the present.
