Dior’s beloved ‘Caro’ arm candy has been given a hands-free update for the everyday hustle. Blame it on the back-to-office bug, but we’re suddenly all about investing in a new backpack

It seems Dior has tired of back-twisting, single-strap styles, considering the French Maison is pin-pointing its new ‘Caro’ backpack as the standout bag for the autumn/winter '24 season.

The ‘Caro' line was originally released in 2021 — when Dior introduced the quilted flap bag as the “heart” of its ready-to-wear collection. The line is a sartorial homage to Christian Dior’s sister, Catherine Dior, fondly known as Caro, who was far more than just a poised Parisian muse. As a French Resistance fighter, her story is one of courage, spanning battlefields and POW camps and earning her accolades such as the Chevalière (Knight) of the Legion of Honour, France’s highest order of merit.

Unveiled as part of the Dior Cruise 2025 collection, the ‘Caro’ backpack plays with the established house codes of the line. The supple shape is dressed in smooth leather and adorned with the macrocannage motif, punctuated by the gold-tone “CD” initials and gilded metal hardware. This sizable hands-free hold-all is bound to be the style-savvy commuter's best friend because juggling coffee, keys, and your phone on the go is hard enough.

Available in a variety of shades – black, powder beige or denim blue – and in two sizes: small and medium, this object is on our list as a must-make update to our wardrobe rotations this autumn. In fact, we already have the release date (September 26) circled in our calendars.
